Ne razumijem kakve veze ovo ima s GNU/Linuxom? Zar je Mate kao radno okruženje podržavao MS Win i Mac OS?

Da, pogledao sam prethodno poveznice koje si dao uz svoju vijest. Nisam sumnjao u tvoje riječi, istina, ali me zanimalo postoji li opširnija informacija. Tamo je nisam našao. Baš neobično, dođe mi da bolje potražim što su pjesnici time htjeli reći...

Usput, iz radionice Minta redovito se servirao najbolji ukus Mate. Vrlo elegantan, sjajan izbornik. Bolje riješeno, moram reći, nego uz Debian. Očito su Clem i bliski suradnici dodali neke finese kojih inače nema, a tu recepturu ljubomorno kriju (kao stanoviti kuhari pripremu čvaraka, kako niže vidim...)

Neobično je također i koliko je forum Mate pasivan i siromašan podacima. Forum Xfce je kudikamo aktivniji i bogatiji sadržajem. Katkad posumnjam da će se Mate uskoro prestati razvijati. Zato me ova vijest ugodno iznenadila.

Hm, čini se da je Win 32 skraćeni naziv za program za snimanje i instalaciju, kako objašnjava Softpedia: http://www.softpedia.com/get/CD-DVD-Too ... ager.shtml

a nalazi se i u repozitorijima Debiana. Sad mi je jasnije o čemu se radi.

na ubuntu 16.04 unity , sam napravio instalaciju MATE desktopa

zatim sam obrisao unity

ponovno naglašavam - nemam ništa na linux mašini tako da mogu riskirati 'kreš' , ovo sam radio iz čiste dosade, nemam ništa protiv dash aplikacije na unity, naprotiv - izuzetno sam zadovoljan, naprosto me zanimalo kako MATE izgleda.

dobro izgleda , lako se mijenja izgled panela , ostajem na MATE

... jedino da se sjetim što je s top meni aktivne aplikacije ? gdje se to pokaže ? ili gnome2 uopće nije pokazivao meni aktivnog prozora u top panelu

našao sam , postoji TopMenu panel applet kojeg mogu dodati na top panel , to je to !

DODATAK: nakon dva dana korištenja, siguran sam - TopMenu panel aplet ima bug, ne pokazuje 'globalni meni' u nekim aplikacijama, npr. gimp. riješeno - maknuo sam TopMenu aplet s top panela i sada imam 'windoze stajl' , glavni meni je u traci prozora

ZAKLJUČAK: neće biti dobro. globalni meni je problem u gimpu, bez obzira da li sam dodao TopMenu applet ili ne. budući da je gimp jedini program koji mi je važan u linuxu, odustajem od MATE idem dalje, upravo instaliram KUBUNTU 16.10 ( ne da mi se nazad na Unity , a baš je dobar ... valjda mi je dosadno pod stare dane )
