Ono što sam primijetio u videu je da izgleda dock neće biti potreban nego samo monitor i bluetooth miš da bi tablet ili mobitel postali desktop, a i tablet može biti desktop samo sa bluetooth mišem. Također vidim X.org aplikacije da preko XMira rade na tabletu i mobitelu, to bi bilo korisno da aktiviraju po defaultu u budućnosti na tabletu i mobitelu tako da postojeće X.org aplikacije rade, na primjer Skype i slične aplikacije dok ne dobiju nativnu verziju, sve u svemu jako mi se ovo sviđa, samo još da taj Unity 8 i Mir završe za desktop, to je u biti i najveći dio posla.

Ubuntu has once again expanded its distribution presence by launching across 500 stores in Latin America with Dell. This comes off the back of successful retail efforts in other global markets such as China, India and Southeast Asia.

Consumers in Colombia, Ecuador and Peru will be now be able to more readily purchase Ubuntu-based Dell laptops and desktops from numerous local resellers. These efforts will be supported by a host of point of sale material and merchandising at retail carrying Ubuntu branding and messaging. Reseller’s sales professionals across the estate have also received Ubuntu training so they will be able to fully demo the experience to end customers.

A number of Dell-Ubuntu SKUs will be on offer across the retail estate including the Inspiron 14 3000 series which offers laptops with 4GB of storage and 14 inch HD LED Backlit displays.

mmanuele Bassi of GNOME has released version 1.21.6 of Clutter, the latest development version of this toolkit used by GNOME and other projects.

The Clutter 1.21.6 release brings support for quad-buffer stereo displays on X11/GLX, a Mir windowing system back-end, evdev input backend improvements, and various bug-fixes.

The quad-buffer stereo display support is for X11/GLX usage and allows Clutter to draw on GLX frame-buffers with the stereo bit set. The Mir back-end allows Clutter to be run natively on Mir, the display server used by Ubuntu Linux.

Linux fans already kind of knew what to expecte to see in Barcelona. Many Ubuntu fans were looking to check out the first Meizu MX4 Ubuntu Edition phone and their curiosity was satisfied, but now we have something that is equally interesting, and that is a small robot.

The Qbo robot is built by a company called Thecorpora that specializes in robotics. It's developed not to do a specific task around the house, but to be a companion that has an advanced AI. It uses the Ubuntu OS and it's capable of several feats. It comes with stereoscopic vision, a speech recognition system, a speech synthesis system, an API & Web control panel, WiFi & Bluetooth connections, and it's capable to navigate with the help of ultrasound sensors.

Unfortunately, it seems that it's been in the works for a long time and all the information you might want can be found on the official blog. It's worth noting that the Ubuntu name is marked on the robot's chest and that is something you don't see every day.
