Ubuntu Make, the software formerly known as Ubuntu Developer Tools Center, is out with a new release that adds more options and platforms for helping developers using Ubuntu Linux.

Ubuntu Make 0.5 brings a new web category for hosting Dart language support (Google's alternative to JavaScript), Firefox Developer Edition is now available through Ubuntu Make, JetBrains Idea Ultimate Edition is added, and there's now Android NDK support under the Android category.

Trebao je biti vani 5.2. a sad vele da će najranije ići van 19.2 (obično ne kasne sa izdavanjem nadogradnji LTS-a)

14.04.2 bi trebao imati ja mislim novi kernel i još štošta novo i backportano pa vjerovatno ima još neriješenih bugova pri upgradeu ili ubacuju još neke features u zadnji čas, jer 14.04 nije samo desktop već i server i cloud, treba to sve istestirati prije nego što se objavi.

Version 0.11 of the Mir Display Server was released this week for Ubuntu.

Mir 0.11 has lots of Android code changes as they work to support external displays, except that feature isn't yet fully wired-up. Mir 0.11 also has changes to the Mir driver model, a redesign of server classes, new client API for dialogs and tooltips, new surface states. new Mir proving server functionality, and a large number of bug-fixes. For enhancing Mir's performance, Mir 0.11 on the desktop now uses double buffering rather than triple buffering to reduce visible lag and it also uses optimally efficient fragment shading when possible. Mir 0.11 also has support for building by the LLVM Clang 3.6 compiler.

he newest addition to systemd just a day after landing its new EFI boot manager is systemd-fsckd. This new addition was done by Ubuntu developers.

There's now a systemd-fsck service and systemd-fsckd daemon. This isn't about systemd working towards its own file-system or anything of that sort, but rather is just for better fsck integration so systemd can relay the information, e.g. to the Plymouth boot splash screen. As explained by the commit, "Add systemd-fsckd multiplexer which accepts multiple systemd-fsck instances to connect to it and sends progress report. systemd-fsckd then computes and writes to /dev/console the number of devices currently being checked and the minimum fsck progress. This will be used for interactive progress report and cancelling in plymouth."

The systemd fsckd work was led by Didier Roche and Martin Pitt of Canonical. This work is being done as part of Ubuntu/Debian's work toward systemd replacing Upstart in Ubuntu.
